Dr. Rachel Knight
Dr. Rachel Knight grew up in Houston, where she graduated from Westside High School and went on to Louisiana State University to study Biology and Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and stayed in Baton Rouge to practice at a local mixed animal practice for a while after graduation. Dr. Knight moved back to Texas in early 2016 and practiced at a busy small animal practice in South Austin for over 3 years before recently returning to her hometown of Houston.
Dr. Knight’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and dermatology. Her personal interests include birding, yoga, hiking, travel, and watching movies at home with her husband Sam and their two dachshunds Maggie & Frankie.
Dr. Knight is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and she is a certified Fear Free veterinarian.
Dr. Amanda Taylor
Dr. Amanda Taylor grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then moved to Texas to study Marine Biology with a concentration in Vertebrate Zoology at Texas A&M University at Galveston, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. She then pursued her love of wildlife by taking a position at Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition (TWRC) in Houston as the Rehabilitation Coordinator and Veterinary Room Supervisor, where she worked for two years. Amanda and her husband then moved to Singapore for a short period of time, before relocating to London, England for seven years. While in London, Amanda decided to pursue her passion of animal care and graduated from the prestigious Royal Veterinary College as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. After graduating, Amanda, her husband, and two children moved back to Houston, where they welcomed the arrival of their third child.
Dr. Taylor’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, exotics, and wildlife. Her personal interests include travel, scuba diving, snowboarding, fishing, and spending time with her family and their dog, cat, and chickens.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the British Veterinary Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
